FTE: 1.0 Shift(s): Days. Location: Remote. Purpose of this position: The Epic Cogito System Administrator (Intermediate) is responsible for the day-to-day administration, support, and optimization of Epic’s reporting and analytics ecosystem, with a focus on Clarity, Caboodle, and Slicer. Dicer. This hybrid role combines technical system administration with user-facing support for analysts and operational leaders. The Cogito System Administrator works closely with IT, Reporting Analytics, and Clinical/ Operational teams to ensure reliable data flows, secure access, and effective use of Epic’s analytics tools. RESPONSIBILITIES - Perform installations, upgrades, patching, and database configurations for IRIS and Epic. Monitor and troubleshoot any unusual system behavior and performance concerns. Performs backup, restores, and refreshes of Epic Cogito stack. Maintain system decision, setup, and configuration documentation. Monitor job schedules, ETL processes, and system performance to ensure stable and timely data delivery. Communicate Epic environmental activities (downtimes, upgrades, patches, refreshes) to all relevant parties. Conduct communications with vendors and other outside resources to resolve complex infrastructure issues when needed. Provide go-live and post go-live support. Provide regular and/or off hour on call support as scheduled. Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS - Minimum Qualifications:3 years’ relevant Epic Cogito (Clarity, Caboodle, Slicer Dicer) Administrator experience. Associates of Arts (AA) or Bachelor’s degree. Cogito Systems Administration Certification -OR-An approved equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Qualifications:Experience with reporting tools/platforms such as SSIS, Power. BI, Epic Cogito SQL, Tableau. Knowledge of healthcare operations and terminology. Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server and other relational databases. Hands on experience writing, tuning and troubleshooting T-SQL queries. Understanding of data warehousing concepts, including warehouse design principles and various ETL models. Experience in developing and maintaining ETL processes aligned with healthcare data standards. Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:Solid understanding of Cogito Systems and intermediate knowledge of client systems deployments. Ability to work independently and provide timely status updates. Analytical, critical thinking, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills. Interpersonal, customer relationship, and teamwork skills. Ability to adapt to changes/challenges in organization strategy, priorities, and direction. Ability to explain or demonstrate technology in a manner suited to the audience (i.e., business, clinical, or technical team member)Ability to write and adapt complex shell scripts/tools. Ability to work across teams to ensure IT system upgrades and deployments are conducted with minimal impact to the operation.
