What you will be doing: The purpose of this position is to ensure that HR strategies align with unique and sometimes competing organizational objectives, strategies, initiatives, and culture. This position works with other HR Specialists on compensation and special projects. This position provides proactive HR consultation to assigned customers throughout the organization on compensation analysis and recommendations. Duties:Compensation, Planning, and Analysis - Responsible for making pay recommendations for new hires, promotions/reallocations, demotions, and transfers while managing the compensation structure and process to ensure that it aligns with DPA policy and practices. Establishes a framework for applying compensation rules and practices consistently across CDHS. Works closely with client groups on processes for in-range salary movements, compensation awards, temporary pay differentials, and signing and/or referral bonuses. Conducts compression analysis to identify compression issues and determine potential compression increases for client groups. Conducts Equal Pay analysis on staff and current compensation. Ensures proper implementation of compensation philosophy and process for CDHS. Analyzes and communicates preferred methods and best practices for compensating employees. Research situations regarding compensation matters to provide clarity for resolution while giving consideration to historical practices, precedents, similar situations, etc. Research employee and management complaints as they relate to pay discrimination (Equal Pay for Equal Work Act). Stays informed of rule changes, Colorado Department of Labor & Employment (CDLE) guidance, and DPA technical guidance. Participate in the development, writing, editing, and modification of compensation policies, guidelines, and procedures. Participates in meetings with COWINS and Program leadership as needed. Client Training and Quality Assurance - Responsible for reviewing compensation recommendation requests and updating, inputting data on the compensation tracking sheet for all assigned client groups. Work closely with HRB - Ps of the assigned client group to ensure the accuracy of information being entered into and reviewed within e. Clearance by the client group's end users. Ensures document retention by saving compensation documents to appropriate folders. Updates compression and equity tracker regularly, and ensures appropriate approvals are obtained for pay adjustments. Deliver training to assigned client groups and other HR Professionals as appropriate. Other Duties As Assigned - Other duties as identified and assigned
