The University of Colorado Denver is seeking a qualified Plumber to join its Facilities Management team. This position operates under the general supervision of the Trades Shop Supervisor and is responsible for performing skilled plumbing work across campus facilities. The role includes the maintenance, repair, installation, and modification of plumbing systems such as water lines, sewer systems, water heaters, softeners, and restroom fixtures. Key Responsibilities:Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems and components in university buildings. Diagnose and resolving plumbing issues in a timely and professional manner. Modify and upgrade existing plumbing infrastructure to meet operational needs. Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, safety regulations, and university standards. Collaborate with other trades and departments to support campus-wide maintenance and operations. Minimum Qualifications:3 years of progressive experience in the plumbing industry with service and installs. Necessary special qualification: Must possess and maintain a current journey-level plumber license. Substitution: Successful completion of a formalized plumbing apprenticeship program, or higher level, non-correspondence coursework in the same fields from an accredited vocational school or university may substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis. Colorado law requires that candidates for state government jobs be residents of Colorado at the time of application. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. Preferred Qualifications:State of Colorado Backflow Certification. Experience in pipe welding. Experience fixing and maintaining equipment and machinery. Ability to manage multiple tasks. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with persons of diverse backgrounds. Mechanical ability: able to learn how to diagnose and troubleshoot the problems related to plumbing failures and be able to fix it.
