Registered Nurse –Pre/ Post The Admissions & Discharge Registered Nurse performs initial assessment, physical assessment and psychological assessment appropriate to the patient’s scheduled procedure, clinical presentation/diagnosis, care setting, age development level, cultural and religious orientation. Identifies and prioritizes the need for further assessment based on the patient’s clinical presentation/diagnosis, care setting, desire for care, and responses to any previous care. Responsibilities include reporting abnormal findings or values to the physician(s), collaborates with the anesthesiologist. Initiates discharge planning for each patient upon admission as appropriate. Will be responsible for performing interventions identified for each nursing diagnosis on the Interdisciplinary Plan of Care and educating the patient and family.
