Acuren Inspection is currently seeking qualified Level II UT Techs to support our operation in California. We are currently seeking local candidates based in Torrance, California or the surrounding area. While we welcome applications from all qualified candidates, local availability is preferred due to the nature of this role. Responsibilities Set up and calibrate guided wave equipment for inspections based on established procedures. Perform guided ultrasonic scans on pipelines, piping systems, and tubular structures. Collect, record, and document inspection data accurately. Identify obvious indications or anomalies for review by senior personnel. Follow safety standards and job-specific procedures during inspections. Maintain and handle NDT equipment properly. Assist with job setup, site preparation, and reporting tasks. Set up and calibrate nondestructive testing equipment. Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using NDT methods of inspection. Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations. Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results. Interpret radiographs, cathode ray tube (CRT) or digital readouts, conductivity meters and visual indicators. Organize and report test results. Perform specialized inspections. May instruct and supervise others. Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred. Certified Level II UT required Certified Level I GUL a plus Guided Waves experience a plus Additional level II certifications in MT,PT,UTT,VT,RT a plus (any combination) Basic understanding of wave propagation and pipe inspection. Training on specific GUL equipment (e.g., collars and transducers)Supervised practical experience (on-the-job training hours)Passing a written and practical exam. Technical background in NDT methods and procedures. Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned NDT tasks and interpret results of inspections. Knowledge of NDT equipment. Experience in report writing. TWIC card preferred Benefits
