Responsible for providing athletic training services to sports Clubs, serving 24 collegiate teams and athletics requiring evenings and weekends. Utilize organizational skills to manage athletic training resources, manage athletic training facility, and supervise inventory. Position will work directly with other members of the UMD health care network. Duties and Responsibilities:Delivers athletic training services to members of the RSOP Club sports teams as assigned, by the Director of Sports Medicine Services, including but not limited to, evaluation and treatment of injuries at both traditional and non-traditional practices and games, design and supervision of rehabilitation programs, and practice/game preventative techniques. Delivers athletic training services to members of the intercollegiate athletics teams as assigned, by the Director of Sports Medicine Services, including but not limited to, coordination of physical exams, evaluation and treatment of injuries at both traditional and non-traditional practices and games, design and supervision of rehabilitation programs, and practice/game preventative techniques. Refers injured athletes to appropriate physicians according to guidelines in the Standard Operating Procedures. Communicate usual and customary information with coaches of assigned Club teams. Serve as preceptor for the Athletic Training Education Programs. Supervise athletic training students in the daily operations of the athletic training facility. Prepares annual injury and treatment reports for assigned sports. Exhibit behaviors in strict compliance with the NATA Code of Professional Practice. Utilize technology within an athletic training setting. Performs other duties not specifically stated herein but deemed essential to the operation of the athletic training program as assigned by the Director of Sports Medicine Services. Qualifications Essential Qualifications:BA/ BS degree in athletic training, exercise science, kinesiology, or related field from a regionally accredited institution. BOC certified athletic trainer. Registered with Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice or eligible. Demonstrated strong written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications:MA/ MS degree in athletic training, exercise science, kinesiology, or related field from a regionally accredited institution. BOC certified athletic trainer for 2 years 2 years working as a certified athletic trainer in collegiate athletics. Experience as preceptor of athletic training students. Demonstrated strong oral and interpersonal skills as a health care provider. Pay and Benefits Pay Range: $35.00 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
