Work Arrangement. This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Detroit, MI three times per week, at minimum. Role Overview. Global Real Estate is a dynamic function at GM, responsible for a diverse portfolio exceeding 300 million square feet across manufacturing, logistics, office, and retail asset classes. As the North America Real Estate team evolves and expands, we are seeking to add one (1) impactful Project Manager to grow our capabilities and capacity. The Project Manager will support the Manufacturing and Warehousing Real Estate portfolio across North America. This role will support leasing, acquisition, disposition, and portfolio management activities for manufacturing and warehousing assets. Reporting to the Real Estate Manufacturing Group Manager, the Project Manager will assist with transaction execution, stakeholder coordination, and real estate project delivery. The Project Manager will work closely with internal GM business partners, serving as a key contributor to real estate initiatives that align with GM’s strategic and operational objectives. What You’ll Do Conduct site searches, develop transaction strategies, and manage timelines for real estate projects. Negotiate real estate contracts, including business terms and legal language, directly with owners, buyers, sellers, landlords, and other parties. Engage stakeholders involved in transactions, including business units, legal, environmental, consultants, and brokers. Track project milestones, approvals, and deliverables to ensure compliance with GM policies and procedures Maintain corporate real estate records, files, and reporting tools. Provide analytical and administrative support for budgeting, cost tracking, and financial planning activities. Make periodic presentations to leadership at divisional and corporate levels. Collaborate with Public Policy and interface with local authorities on land use, permitting, entitlements, and property matters. Champion the Infrastructure & Corporate Citizenship brand, increasing awareness and engagement among business partners, service providers, and contractors. Travel occasionally to support site visits and project execution. Required Qualifications 1–3 years of experience in commercial real estate, project management, consulting, finance, or a related business field. Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Business, Finance, Real Estate, Engineering, or a related field. Capability to lead projects involving internal stakeholders and external resources and be skilled in negotiations, financial analysis and a broad range of real estate matters including legal and environmental. Strong business acumen and, solid interpersonal and communication skills. Highly motivated, organized, creative, and success oriented. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), chat and virtual meeting tools and experience using AI. Preferred Qualifications Exposure to corporate or commercial real estate, brokerage, tenant representation, economic development, or facilities management. Internship or rotational experience in real estate or project delivery functions. Real Estate License (or interest in pursuing) is a plus. This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the selected candidate is expected to report to a specific location at least 3 times a week {or other frequency dictated by their manager}. The selected candidate will be required to travel on a regular basis (25-50%) for this role. This job is not eligible for relocation benefits.
