The Mental Health Tech functions as a member of the nursing team in providing a basic level of general and psychiatric care of the patients on the Mental Health Units, including individual therapy, leading group therapy (process groups), fully assisting patients with ADL’s, secondary care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Essential Functions. Assesses patients using physical and psycho-social assessment skills. Participates in the development of a nursing problem list upon completion of initial assessment upon admission. Implements aspects of nursing care plan and evaluates its outcome for each patient to whom assigned. Write progress notes each shift. Develops, coordinates and implements multidisciplinary treatment plans. Assure patient safety by closely monitoring patients on precautions and assisting with those required restraints. Charts accurately supporting patient’s diagnosis. Apply the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age related physical and mental care appropriate to the age of patient. Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities/ Expectations. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Approximate percentage of time required to travel: 0%Must read, write and speak fluent English. Must have good and regular attendance. Performs other related duties as assigned. Pay Range: $18.00 - $26.75/ Hr. Scion. Bachelor’s degree in psychology or social work or 2 years’ experience in an inpatient psychiatric unit. Licenses/ Certifications. None required. Experience. No prior experience required
