The Director of Instruction at Carmel Valley Ranch manages the Club & Resort Coaching and Player Development Programs, including but not limited to professional individual instruction, corporate group programming, group clinics, junior programming, club fittings, demo days, and practice facility oversight to drive and grow Member and Guest experience value, in addition to growing program revenues. Physical Requirements: - Flexible and long hours sometimes required. - Medium work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS Essential: - Team focused approach with all encounters with Members, Guests, and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner - Ensure elevated Membership and Golf experiences commensurate with Team-Oriented CVR standards - Maintain regular attendance in compliance with CVR standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the resort - Create, develop, and facilitate player development programing for Members and Guests, including individual lessons, clinics, corporate group programming, golf schools, and club fitting/vendor days - Provide professional individual and group instruction for Club Members and Resort Guests - Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working - Comply at all times with CVR standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient golf operations - Maintain a warm friendly demeanor at all times - Respond to all guest and member requests, problems, or complaints in an attentive, courteous and efficient manner. Follow up to ensure satisfaction - Maintain a professional working relationship and promote open lines of communication with managers, employees and other departments - Ensure implementation of all CVR policies and house rules - Train new employees, help to develop and implement training programs regarding Player Development Programs - Authorize and sign adjustments and refunds - Maintain golf shop presence as needed during peak periods, Member and Resort events, and as otherwise directed by the Head Professional - Ensure correct and accurate cash handling - Ensure that employees are attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to guests, managers and other employees Education and Experience: - High School diploma or equivalent required - At least 6 years of progressive experience on a golf course or a related field preferred - PGA Membership required - Previous supervisory experience required - Must have valid driver's license for the applicable state
