Systematic Active Equity (SAE) is BlackRock’s quantitative equity investing platform that combines extensive data, advanced analytics, and human expertise to deliver active investment outcomes at scale. The team applies a systematic, technology-driven approach to analyze large and diverse datasets, transforming them into investment signals that guide stock selection and portfolio construction. BlackRock Systematic is seeking an Investment Strategist (Associate). This role is responsible for delivering superior client service and supporting business growth across the Americas, including business development, internal education, and thought leadership. The Investment Strategist will act as a key partner to VP- and Director-level strategists, supporting the delivery and scaling of SAE’s systematic active equity platform. The successful candidate will work closely with product strategists and internal partners across the firm. This role requires strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills, as well as a solid understanding of capital markets. Responsibilities:Develop reporting materials including market commentary, client review presentations, and strategy attribution across SAE strategies. Provide high-quality client service to internal partners and external clients, including timely and insightful responses to client queries. Partner with senior investment strategists and distribution teams to support client engagement and drive business growth. Support SAE initiatives across public equity, hedge fund, and private market strategies. Develop understanding of the competitive landscape and contribute to product positioning and business development efforts. Assist with ad hoc analysis and client requests, including completing RFPs and supporting new business opportunities. Act as a liaison between the investment team and key partners across BlackRock, including compliance, legal, operations, marketing, and sales. Programming Responsibilities:Contribute to programming initiatives that enhance the efficiency and scalability of client servicing and business development processes. Build and maintain Python-based tools, dashboards, and libraries to automate recurring workflows (e.g., reporting, RFP responses, market commentary)Partner with research and technology teams to improve data management and enable more proactive client engagement. Apply data analysis and visualization techniques to strengthen insight generation and client communication. Support the development of internal tools and systems that improve process consistency and information sharing. Qualifications:BA/ BS degree with 3–6 years of industry experience, including strong investment management knowledge and an understanding of capital markets. Strong interpersonal and communication skills across internal and external stakeholders. Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Excellent Python programming skills and comfort working in data-driven environments; experience developing automation tools or analytical applications strongly preferred. Familiarity with data visualization and risk models or Aladdin is a plus For San Francisco, CA and New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$110,000.00 - USD$150,000.00 .
