The Quality Control Analysis Technician is responsible for conducting chart/documentation reviews and audits with a focus on improving compliance within targeted areas of documentation such as timely completion of H&Ps/updates, authentication of verbal orders, timely and accurate transcription services, etc. This non-clinical position requires skills and experience in accuracy and attention to detail. The Quality Control Analysis Techs must support the mission of providing Sacred Work to all who enter the doors of Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas. Essential Job Duties. Conducts both open and closed chart/documentation reviews for compliance with Medicaid COPs, Join Commission/ CIHQ requirement, Medial Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and hospital policies regarding record completion as assigned, accurately recording and reporting results in a timely manner. Works closely with department management to develop and implement strategies to improve compliance with effective and timely documentation utilizing the PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act) methodology and striving for continuous quality improvement. Contacts practitioners regarding incomplete chart components in an effort to achieve chart completion in a timeframe that is in compliance per regulatory entities and facility requirements. Documents all such contact. Maintains all assigned EMR work queues in a current status at all times, researching and resolving issues identified. This includes, but is not limited to transcription queues. Works with medical staff, management, IT staff, vendors and other to identify and resolve issues impacting the EMR and timely, accurate chart completion. Participates in other performance improvement, quality control, and/or monitoring projects including, but not limited to Privacy Rounds, processing attestation sheets and chart analysis/reanalysis. Required Education and Experience. High School Diploma or equivalent. Degree in HIM/ HIT or 1 year of medical records experience Required License/ Certifications. N/ A
