The Rehabilitation Technician I/ BA assists assigned adolescent, adult and geriatric patients with their physical care; participates in the implementation of the patient s plan of care as directed by the RN; maintains an organized and safe patient/unit environment. Provides safety, structure and physical care in a consistent manner to patients with physical impairments, impaired reasoning and thinking skills and/or behavior issues. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Set appropriate priorities for neurologically impaired, acute med-surg and rehabilitation patient care needs. Organize and prioritize work while responding to changing demands. Gather information about patients. Reports any changes to RN. Assist patients with their daily living activities; encouraging as much independence as possible. Demonstrate competency in patient and family education and document education provided, as delegated by the RN. Monitor patient s skin frequently for signs and symptoms of pressure. Assure patients attend appropriate therapy sessions at the assigned time. Hand-Off communication between shifts demonstrates strong teamwork. Ensure patient rooms are clean, orderly and stocked adequately with supplies. Maintain competency through professional self-development by participating in professional group activities such as workshops and in-services and through applying skills and abilities to day to day role/functions. Participate in multidisciplinary committee work such as unit-based quality improvement and Shared Governance, as required. Becomes familiar with and follows hospital wide and department specific policies and procedures; seeking assistance from management when clarification or assistance is needed. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Licensure Certification Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (required). Colorado Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license preferred. Education High school diploma or equivalent. CNA Certification from an accredited program. Experience Minimum of 1 year of caregiver or direct patient care experience preferred. Experience with individuals with SCI, TBI, or behavioral/mental health needs strongly preferred. Skills Strengths Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to assist with multi-skilled direct patient care tasks delegated by the RN. Understanding of patient safety principles, infection control, and trauma-informed care. Motivated, flexible, and dependable with a positive and patient-centered attitude. Spanish-speaking candidates encouraged to apply.
