The City of Round Rock is seeking a detail-driven, customer-focused Deputy Court Clerk to join our Municipal Court team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping others navigate challenging situations, values accuracy, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-responsibility environment. Our Deputy Court Clerks are often the first point of contact for citizens who may be stressed, confused, or frustrated. We’re looking for someone with excellent communication skills and a steady, compassionate presence—someone who can provide clear information while maintaining professionalism and empathy. If you enjoy solving problems, offering support, and keeping complex processes organized, this is the job for you. Bilingual candidates (English/ Spanish) are highly preferred and greatly help us serve our diverse community. Posted range is the starting salary. Pay rate offered is based on experience.
Examples of Duties
What You’ll Do. Assist the public in person and by phone, providing information on fines, court dates, warrants, driving safety courses, deferred adjudication, payment extensions, and more. Help customers research answers and resolve issues by reviewing case information and guiding them through available options. Process, distribute, and organize court documents for signatures and workflows. Prepare reports, correspondence, and documentation related to court activities. Input and verify citation data in the court system with high attention to accuracy. Maintain electronic and paper records, including sorting, filing, and updating case information. Collect fines and fees, ensuring proper handling, accountability, and documentation. Support Court staff with administrative needs and perform other duties as assigned
Experience and Training
Who You Are. You’re someone who takes pride in accuracy, organization, and responsive customer service. You can stay calm and courteous when assisting individuals who may be upset or overwhelmed, and you communicate clearly while adhering to legal and procedural requirements. You enjoy learning complex processes, working with a dedicated team, and serving your community with patience and professionalism. Minimum Qualifications. High school diploma or equivalent. Two (2) years of clerical and cash handling experience. Strong attention to detail and comfort working with structured processes and deadlines. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Highly Preferred Qualifications. Bilingual in English and Spanish
Certificates and Licenses Required
