Salary range: The salary range for this position is $455,024-$1,164,900. This position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan. Position description The Department of Surgery at the University of California, Davis; School of Medicine seeks to recruit a full-time Academic Cardiothoracic Surgeon. The academic title will be at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank within the Health Sciences Clinical, Clinical X, or In-Residence series depending on experience and qualifications. Faculty in the Clinical X series are expected to engage in professional competence and activity, teaching, research and creative work, and University/public service. Faculty in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series are expected to engage in teaching, professional competence and activity, scholarly or creative activities, and University/public service. Faculty in the In-Residence series are expected to engage in teaching, independent research and creative work, demonstrate professional competence and activity, and provide University and public service. The successful candidate will engage in the teaching and practice of a broad spectrum of adult cardiac surgery including transcatheter intervention for structural heart disease. Have the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment Have experience in general cardiac surgery and further training and experience with catheter-based surgery Additional qualifications (required at time of start) CA Medical License before the appointment start date, Obtain a California Fluoroscopy Operator’s Permit within the first year of appointment. Preferred qualifications (other preferred, but not required, qualifications for the position) Preferred experience and capability in complex coronary artery revascularization and catheter base intervention for structural heart disorders.
