West Chester University of Pennsylvania’s Office of the Registrar invites applicants for the position of Student Services Registrar Generalist. The Student Services Registrar Generalist primarily supports student success by helping to maintain student records, respond to student inquiries, and outreach to students. This position also supports non-degree students and handles inquiry and preparation for residency reviews. The Student Services Registrar Generalist does not advise students regarding their curriculum but serve as consultants to assist the campus community to understand and uphold University policy and procedures. The Student Services Registrar Generalist a diverse campus community including faculty, staff and students. This team member provides support in person, over the phone and via email to help individuals navigate processes and understand policies in a timely, professional and courteous manner. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, demonstrate flexibility and adaptability, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, high volume, deadline driven, and team environment to fit the operational and student service needs. Responsibilities include: Provide support to students, parents, faculty, and staff regarding Registrar functions in accordance with university policies and procedures. Evaluate student records and update as applicable. Provide front desk and reception coverage. Provide phone support. Provide email support. Manage student, faculty and staff requests. Data processing. Participation in commencement activities. Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Three years of advanced clerical or para-professional work which included the collection, recording, compilation, and presentation of office management or program related information; OR - Any equivalent combination of experience and training. An associate’s degree may be substituted for two years of required experience. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Knowledge of the basic principles and practices and the respective standards of measurement applied within a management discipline. Knowledge of modern office practices and equipment. Knowledge of basic PC hardware and standard software. Ability to use a PC to collect, compile, and assemble data and reports for use in the conduct of studies. Ability to analyze varied data by applying the information against interpretive standards in the formulation of recommended action. Ability to perform detailed work involving written information by preparing reports of finding according to the appropriate standards of content, clarity, grammar, and format. Ability to identify problems and recognize appropriate solutions as a result of the analysis of data. Ability to communicate effectively with employees, programs officials, job applicants and the public by relating the purpose of the contact and collecting all the necessary information required for the analysis. Ability to apply and adapt established procedures to the preparation and formulation of study findings. Ability to learn the basic principles and practices of public administration. Ability to read, write, and communicate orally in English. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates in the performance of work.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience providing customer service support Experience working in a higher education setting Experience learning and utilizing student information systems/applications such as Ellucian Banner, On. Base, 25 Live, Pro Event and Course Scheduling Software, Parchment, Comply/ Act 48, Navigate and College Source in day-to-day work.
