About this Opportunity
The Site Maintenance Crew Assistant assists with lawn maintenance and flower bed services at various county-owned sites throughout Brunswick County. This position is responsible for performing routine landscaping tasks, ensuring all assigned locations remain clean, well-maintained, and visually appealing. The Site Maintenance Crew Assistant also assists with transporting and handling equipment and supplies while adhering to county maintenance standards and safety regulations.
Education and Experience
Graduation from high school and 1 to 2 years of experience in labor-intensive maintenance work; or any combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities. Experience can substitute up to two years of education; however, education cannot substitute for experience. Special Requirements. Must obtain Public Operator Pesticide Applicator’s License within one year of employment.
Physical Requirements
Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment including tractors, lawn mowers, welders, rakes, and power and hand tools etc. Must be able to exert up to 80 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are for Medium Work. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
