Requirements / Qualifications EDUCATION: Verification of a High School diploma, a GED certificate, or a higher degree. (Verification required at time of employment) EXPERIENCE: One year of paid or volunteer experience working with Special Education and/or special needs school age children is preferred. Recent job-related experience within the last five years is required. LICENSES, CERTIFICATION AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: - Verification of a current First Aid certificate and a current CPR certificate issued by the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association is required at time of employment, and must be kept current as a condition of continued employment. - Successful completion of training provided by Health Services prior to start date. - Verification of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator’s license. - Insurability by the District’s liability insurance carrier may be required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Supplemental training or coursework in special education, instructional technology and career awareness is desirable, but not required. FOREIGN TRANSCRIPT EVALUATION Individuals who have completed course work at an institution in a country other than the United States must obtain a complete evaluation of foreign transcripts/degrees, prior to applying for a position, and attach a copy to the application electronically. The foreign transcripts must be evaluated by one of the approved organizations, listed on the Rialto Unified School District website, in order to be accepted. These organizations are private enterprises who charge a fee for their services. Individuals pursuing a foreign transcript evaluation must follow the procedures outlined by the organization providing the evaluation. In all instances, original, official documentation will be required when requesting the evaluation. Note: To obtain examination credits, veterans must electronically attach a copy of a DD 214 (proof of service and/or disability) verification to the application.
