Under the direction of an Assistant Director, manages the capital projects functions of the Department of Parks and Recreation. Directs highly complex or sensitive assignments. Prepares or manages the preparation of various documents of a technical, sensitive, complex, or political nature. Represents the Department on capital project related matters and programs at various meetings. Collaborates with appropriate Departmental services, County departments, community stakeholders, and/or Federal, State, and local agencies on a variety of issues. Assume the duties of the Assistant Director (in absence of), as directed, by performing necessary management functions, as needed. Maintains current knowledge related to Parks and Recreation services, capital projects, facilities, and programs
Requirements
Requirements to Qualify. Four years of supervisory experience at the level of County of Los Angeles class of Administrative Services Manager II - or higher overseeing a unit responsible for the planning, design, and implementation of capital projects for a public agency - - . PHYSICAL CLASS:Physical Class II – Light: This class includes administrative and clerical positions requiring light physical effort that may include occasional light lifting to a 10-pound limit and some bending, stooping, or squatting. Considerable ambulation may be involved. SPECIAL REQUIREMENT INFORMATION: - Experience at the level of Los Angeles County's class of Administrative Services Manager II is defined as supervising a unit of professional staff responsible for performing a full range of difficult to complex analytical assignments within one or more administrative functional areas and makes recommendations on highly complex issues which directly impact departmental programs and administrative operations, and which may be of a confidential or sensitive nature. - - Capital project experience is defined as working for a public OR a private agency (e.g., consultant) and performing work on public agency capital projects.
