Job Description The University of North Carolina at Pembroke School of Education seeks to fill a full-time, non-tenure-track Lecturer position in the Department of Early Childhood, Elementary Education, and Literacy Studies. This is a 9-month position with a 4/4 teaching load. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, and core education curriculum. The position also requires flexibility to support related program areas, including Special Education coursework, as needed. The position requires adaptability in course delivery formats, including face-to-face, hybrid, and online instruction. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses; supervising field experiences and student teaching interns through observation, feedback, and evaluation; and supporting candidates in ed. TPA preparation and completion, including guidance related to planning, instruction, assessment, and reflective practice. The Lecturer will collaborate with clinical teachers and school partners to support high-quality clinical experiences. Additional responsibilities include advising students, participating in departmental and university service, and contributing to program assessment and continuous improvement efforts aligned with In. TASC standards and the North Carolina Professional Teaching Standards (NCPTS). Candidates should provide evidence of supporting pre-service and in-service teachers, a commitment to educating all students in diverse school settings, and experience collaborating with K–12 faculty and school partners. Strong consideration will be given to candidates with experience teaching in higher education, supervising teacher candidates, supporting ed. TPA or similar performance-based assessments, and integrating technology into instruction, including online teaching.
