Performs routine and emergency EKG's per doctor's request to provide a diagnostic tool for diagnosis and treatment. This position is in the Acute Care Hospital and the hours will be 7 am to 3:30 pm. Education/ Experience:Must have completed a Medical Assistant course that includes EKG or must have six months of experience performing cardio graphic procedures. Prefer six months in a high volume acute care hospital. Equivalent Education and/or Experience:May have an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in lieu of specific education and/or experience as stated above. Skills or Special Abilities:Must be able to identify the proper placement of electrodes for a 12-Lead EKG. Must be able to perform 12-Lead EKG. Must be able to utilize the MUSE (EKG Management System) for edit of EK - Gs prior to physician interpretation. Must be able to communicate effectively with patients, visitors and hospital staff. Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of PC operations and the ability to use work processing and spreadsheet software in a Windows environment. Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of equipment in order to monitor its general working condition. Utilizes creativity and innovation in attaining desired outcomes.
