Under general direction of the Chief Campus Risk Management & Insurance Administrator, performs moderately complex (journey-level) risk management work. Works under general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Employees at this level may work more independently than those at the previous level and may routinely assist others in performing work of greater complexity. Essential Duties Summary Risk Mitigation: Develop and implement loss control programs, safety initiatives, and risk management guidelines. Analysis & Reporting: Review, analyze, and document loss exposure data, and identify safety hazards. Claims Handling: Investigate, process, and manage insurance claims (property, vehicle, liability) and negotiate settlements. Compliance: Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local laws, as well as internal policies and procedures. Training & Consultation: Provide safety training to employees, prepare educational materials, and consult with departments to mitigate risk. Technology & Data: Utilize risk management information systems, analyze data, and maintain databases (e.g., OSHA logs). % FTE 1.0 Hiring Range $64,197.37 - $81,851.64 Education Bachelor’s degree in risk management, Business Administration. Required Licensing/ Certification N/ A Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of: Policies, procedures, and practices. Relevant laws, regulations, and risk management practices. Insurance lines of coverage, risk financing techniques, casualty insurance policies, and insurance policy negotiating and purchasing. Requires working knowledge of specialized practices, compliance and procedures. Microsoft Office Professional or similar application. Skill in: Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Demonstrable research, project management and public presentation skills Problem-solving and decision-making. Multitasking and time management. Writing documents. Both verbal and written communication. Ability to: Monitor standard filing systems. Make effective independent judgments objectively and analytically, including the ability to develop creative solutions to difficult problems. Adapt to change while maintaining focus on organizational and operational objectives. Prioritize projects and meet both established and anticipated deadlines. Availability for emergency response both during and outside business hours. Demonstrable strategic thinking abilities for implementation of various cross-functional and cross-departmental programs Strong oral and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate and interact effectively with all levels of staff, management, business contacts and internal/external partners. Work Experience Required: Two (2) – five (5) years of experience in risk management, safety, or claims administration. Ability to maintain the security or integrity of critical infrastructure, which may include communications systems, computer networks and systems, cybersecurity systems, electrical grid, hazardous waste treatment or water treatment system. Preferred: Safety, or a related field preferred. ARM Certificate (associate in risk management) or RIMS-CRMP (RIMS-Certified Risk Management Professional) are preferred.
