Key job responsibilities- Own team-level architecture and design for a major product area; deliver features spanning the full software lifecycle- Solve complex problems with multiple constraints; apply judgment in trade-offs between short-term delivery and long-term maintainability- Partner with product, science, and cross-team engineering on specification, decision modeling, and integration contracts- Lead design reviews and provide constructive direction on code and design to engineers at multiple levels- Drive cross-team coordination and ensure the team's product integrates cleanly with upstream and downstream systems. Basic Qualifications- 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience- 5 years of programming with at least one software programming language experience- 5 years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team. Preferred Qualifications- 5 years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
