Will: Responsible for driving strategic operational and financial operations initiatives for healthcare facilities. Provides oversight and leadership on financial controls, month-end financial close, and budget preparation process. Ensures accurate financial reporting, including audit and financial compliance. Provides financial analysis to senior leadership and facility leadership in support of operational considerations. Supports succession planning by developing new and existing facility Chief Financial Officers for their next leadership step. Creates an environment of accountability in achieving budgeted metrics and/or targets. Identifies opportunities for financial operations improvement and/or increased compliance with established financial controls. Supports facility Chief Executive Officers in selection and ongoing performance assessments of facility Chief Financial Officers. Assumes a lead role in analyzing and exploring means of reducing facility operating costs and increasing revenues based on knowledge of market trends, financial reports, and operating procedures. Exhibits a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance. Skilled in the application of policies and procedures. Knowledge of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations, and state regulatory environments as needed. What we’re looking for Applicants should possess a bachelor’s degree with a preference for accounting, business administration, or finance from an accredited school. Master’s degree preferred. Additional requirements include:Certified Public Accountant certification preferred. Valid Driver’s License. Ten years of healthcare finance experience required. Three years of experience working as a finance leader in an acute-care facility required. Knowledge of behavioral health care. Strong organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of healthcare professionals. Proficiency in using technology, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Skills and Abilities:Business Mathematical Skills -- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs. Moderate Computer Skills – Frequent use of electronic mail, word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, graphics, etc. Ability to create, maintain and incorporate simple functions into documents, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations to support business objectives. Moderate Communication – Regularly uses moderately complex oral and written skills. May train others in functional areas, interact with others and make presentations to department or middle management. Routine Business Problems – Problems encountered are routine, somewhat repetitive and generally solved by following clear directions and procedures. Job Specific Impact -- Decisions generally affect own job or assigned functional area.
