The Opportunity AbbVie is seeking a highly motivated Associate Scientist I, Analytical Development to join an experienced, fast-paced and collaborative team. This role will be responsible for routine testing and analytical method development/optimization for characterization of our targeted lipid nanoparticles (t. LN - Ps) and its components. Working under close supervision, this position will support expansion of the m. RNA/t. LNP platform and pipeline. This role requires a strong attention to detail with a quantitative/analytical mindset and drive to tackle complex problems in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities & Duties:Perform routine analysis and support development/optimization of methods under supervision for characterization of t. LN - Ps and subcomponents, including plate-based assays, DLS, ELIS - As, CE and/or HPLC methods. Collaborate with internal and cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy and reliability. Discuss methods/data in team meetings. Actively contribute to improving team operations, analytical procedures, methods, SOPs, etc. Support analytical lab operations through equipment maintenance, organizing and maintaining inventory, aliquoting and labeling, and other tasks as needed. Maintain detailed and comprehensive documentation and electronic lab notebook (ELN) entries for all performed experiments and assays. Prepare data reports and presentations as needed. Follow safety procedures/guidelines, protocols, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Qualifications. Requirements/ Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Bioengineering or other related field with no additional experience. Experience with plate-based assays, ELISA, HPLC, and/or capillary electrophoresis (CE) is preferred. Highly adaptive and comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be detail oriented with demonstrated ability in problem solving and organization. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work overtime (as needed) required
