Tetra Tech is seeking a Civil Engineer, EIT to support the design and delivery of civil infrastructure projects in the San Luis Obispo office. This role involves grading and drainage, stormwater systems, complete streets, active transportation facilities, and water and sewer infrastructure. The Civil Engineer, EIT will assist with technical design, construction documents, and permitting while working alongside experienced engineers and project managers in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment. Essential Functions:Assist in civil infrastructure design including: Grading and drainage using AutoCAD Civil 3 D Stormwater management and erosion control Water distribution and sanitary sewer collection systems Hydraulic modeling and permitting support Complete streets, bikeways, and pedestrian pathways. Perform conceptual and detailed design calculations and analyses. Support preparation of engineering reports, construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates. Ensure adherence to standard engineering practices and documentation requirements. Evaluate design alternatives and assist in resolving technical issues. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support permitting processes. Participate in field and office survey/mapping tasks as needed. Execute work safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively. Required Qualifications. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) required 0–5 years of relevant civil engineering experience. Experience with municipal, commercial, or residential infrastructure projects. Familiarity with grading, drainage, hydrology, hydraulics, and street design. Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software. Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and technical writing. Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards for infrastructure and facilities design. Preferred Qualifications:EIT certification preferred; ability to obtain California PE license within 2 years. Exposure to Low Impact Development (LID) techniques and water quality systems a plus. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3 D (formal training preferred); Micro. Station In. Roads experience a plus. CA Salary: $77,000 to $99,000 dependent on experience.
