Primary Purpose of this Position:

The Asset Management Senior Analyst will be responsible for ensuring that assets are accurately defined, recorded, and updated, and that the proper accountabilities and controls are in place (internally and externally) to prevent and manage risks associated with the accuracy and completeness of the asset information.  This role is also responsible for assisting with supplier audits, and assuring compliance with contracted terms within software and hardware agreements with respect to licenses allocations/entitlements for use.

Essential Responsible Areas:

  • Measure and improve data accuracy by doing gap analysis and determining which data sources we can use to correct those issues.
  • Meet regularly with IT leadership stakeholders, discuss findings of data analysis and get their feedback and approval to execute data or process improvements
    • For process improvements it is our responsibility to work with the support teams to implement changes, and to provide training as well as update process documents (OCM).
  • Hardware and software asset management are large budget items yearly for Ball, the right candidate has experience driving down costs associated with corrections to contract entitlements at renewal (true-up of usage against contracts working with procurement) or avoidance of costs by proactively managing the license entitlements and reclaiming them when usage is low vs. buying or reserving new.

  • Proactively manage license entitlements against installations, and in the case of a supplier audit: work with the asset manager, the IT stakeholder that manages that contract relationship and procurement to craft responses and resolve any licensing issues in Balls environment. This will protect Ball from financial and data risks associated with improper IT asset management.
  • Strong analytical and continuous improvement skills are needed to identify data anomalies and opportunities to create process efficiencies.
  • Experience working with process automation in Ball’s ServiceNow’s platform lends to a more experienced user that understands how the data tables are interconnected and how the HAM and SAM processes use those tables as part of the process for delivery of IT service management.
  • Obtain HAM and SAM certifications in ServiceNow (if not already certified).
  • Stay updated on new ServiceNow module functionalities and leverage them for Ball.
  • Drive maturity and improvement of asset lifecycle processes to optimize efficiency and cost.
  • Mature, independent problem solver. Ability to resolve data and system issues using ITSM processes and relationships.
  • Critical thinking and quick decision-making skills
  • Strong project management capabilities are key when driving process changes in the tool.  This happens regularly as we continue on our process maturity – understanding requirements, communicating with stakeholders and providing OCM, and planning and securing resources.
  • Leadership qualities and ownership for continuous improvement – bringing forward ideas, or having the knowledge of what they can action without approval and making those changes to the process or data when it is identified.
  • Contribute to IT budget savings as hardware and software costs rise annually.
  • Shape improvements that benefit IT and Ball overall.

Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • 5+ years of experience within IT (delivery of projects, solutions, or IT operations) of moderate complexity and scope.
