Analytical Chemist – NMR Spectroscopist. Huntsman is seeking an Analytical Chemist – NMR Spectroscopist supporting the HATC Shared Services Division located in HATC, Texas. This position will report to the Sr. Manager Testing Services. Job Scope. Provide advanced analytical support to business groups using Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. This includes acquisition and interpretation of one- and two-dimensional NMR data to ensure reliable and actionable results. Contribute to broader analytical techniques, including Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) analysis as needed. Apply Lab. Works Laboratory Information Management System tools to data reporting and analysis. In summary, as the Analytical Chemist – NMR Spectroscopist, you will:Refine and perform one- and two-dimensional solution-state NMR analysis for structure elucidation, quantitative analysis, and troubleshooting. Conduct routine maintenance of NMR instruments, including cryogen fills. Perform FTIR qualitative and quantitative analysis for problem solving across a wide range of sample matrices. Perform routine maintenance of FTIR instruments, including performance testing and verification. Apply Lab. Works Laboratory Information Management System and data analysis tools (SQL, Crystal Reports) to enable reporting and workflow optimization. Support other employees in accomplishing Huntsman company goals. Participate in and complete company-required training programs. Participate in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company. Qualifications. You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States. Minimum Qualifications. MS or PhD in Chemistry 7 years of relevant experience. Skills and Knowledge Detailed knowledge of organic chemistry to support product characterization and problem-solving required. Experience and knowledge of Bruker Top. Spin software required. Experience and knowledge of VNMRJ software (Linux platform)Ability to communicate with technical personnel electronically, by phone, and in person. Previous experience with enterprise LIMS, SQL, and Crystal Reports data reporting. Must have a level of proficiency with Internet, email, and Microsoft programs. Communicates tactfully and effectively both verbally and in writing. Maintains effective working relationships with those encountered during the course of employment. Flexibility and adaptability to new instructions and/or dynamic organizational priorities is critical for job success. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience with FTIR qualitative and quantitative analysis. Experience with Lab. Works Laboratory Information Management System.
