As a Ground Hand at LJA Telecom, you will be responsible for following strict safety procedures while performing physical labor on construction sites, including site preparation, material handling, vehicle inspections, equipment loading, and supporting the crew foreman. A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE: Following all safety requirements and using appropriate safety equipment and safety procedures in performing duties Perform various manual tasks on construction and/or other sites, including site preparation, material handling, and assisting skilled workers, often involving physical labor and the use of basic tools and equipment Daily vehicle inspections - check fluids and lights Maintain cleanliness of the crew's assigned company vehicle Load all necessary tools, equipment, and materials needed for the crew's job assignments Complete all task assigned by the crew's foreman Stay engaged and on task to increase your knowledge in your line of work (Aerial, Bore, Underground) REQUIRED EDUCATION/ LICENSE/ CERTIFICATIONS: Valid driver's license required High school or GED REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Following all safety requirements and using appropriate safety equipment and safety procedures in performing duties Perform various manual tasks on construction and/or other sites, including site preparation, material handling, and assisting skilled workers, often involving physical labor and the use of basic tools and equipment Daily vehicle inspections - check fluids and lights Maintain cleanliness of the crew's assigned company vehicle Load all necessary tools, equipment, and materials needed for the crew's job assignments Complete all task assigned by the crew's foreman Stay engaged and on task to increase your knowledge in your line of work (Aerial, Bore, Underground) Must be able to bend, climb, and squat to perform job duties in the field. Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 80 pounds. Must have sufficient hand and finger dexterity to safely operate tools and equipment. Must be able to detect odors and fumes as necessary for safe work performance Must be able to walk, stand, and work outdoors for extended periods in various conditions. Must have adequate hearing and vision to perform duties safely and effectively. Must be 21 years or older to be considered for this position Must be willing and able to travel for project sites and team coordination IDEALLY, YOU SHOULD ALSO HAVE: Strong communication skills Ability to build strong relationship
