DUTIES:Coordinates and is responsible for the development and implementation of outpatient behavioral health services and the operations of the Behavioral Health Clinic. Ensures adherence to program policies and procedures and evaluates mechanisms to ensure consistency with the regulatory laws and standards. Approves and oversees the development and establishment of additional clinical services provided by clinical staff. Distributes referrals to clinical staff. Manages the clinical and administrative functioning of the Behavioral Health Clinic to include hiring, performance evaluations and management of clinical staff. Provides direct care services to families and youth referred for services including clinical assessments, individual, group, and family therapy. Collaborates with area pediatricians to pursue integrated behavioral health services. Markets outpatient services to pediatricians, schools, or other service agencies to establish and maintain a referral base. Works closely with Boys Town personnel to monitor and support administrative processes e.g., hiring, provider credentialing, budgeting, billing, etc. Provides clinical training as designated to other Boys Town personnel as needed. Completes necessary documentation pertaining to the clinical services provided in a timely manner. Reviews and signs clinical documentation generated by doctoral interns, post-doctoral fellows and others as required in a timely manner. Provides supervision to doctoral interns, post-doctoral fellows, staff psychologists and others in the Behavioral Health Clinic as required. Trains doctoral interns, post-doctoral fellows, staff psychologists, and others to provide behavioral pediatric services to children and families for the Behavioral Health Clinic as needed. Works closely with Boys Town personnel, to design clinical interventions for significant behavior problems upon request. Pursues ongoing education related to the fields of clinical psychology and behavioral pediatrics. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Knowledge of the theories, principles and practices of psychology, mental illness, deficiency and deterioration. Skill in performing difficult and complex testing, evaluation, diagnosis and therapy. Thorough knowledge of psychology and treatment options available to patients and ability to apply psychological principles to therapeutic intervention with individuals, groups, and families. Knowledge of the Boys Town Model. Knowledge of strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, and coordination of people and resources in a non-profit organization. High level of professionalism and interpersonal skills. Exceptional communication skills with the ability to communicate orally and in writing with a variety of individuals ranging from administrator and staff to health care professionals. Ability to communicate with at all levels in the organization and with external business contacts in an articulate, professional manner while maintaining necessary degree of confidentiality. Demonstrated self-awareness, objectivity, and a strong desire to help others. Ability to design and complete department studies, evaluation, projects, and behavioral research, providing leadership and direction. Ability to lead and work with a multidisciplinary team. Possess strong data analysis skills and knowledge of related computer systems. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:PhD. or Psy. D. in psychology or related field required. Licensed Psychologist or Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of employment required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum 5 years of post-doctoral experience preferred including progressive leadership directing complex mental health services and overseeing work of clinicians preferred. Experience and training in behavioral pediatrics preferred. Other Duties: This job description incorporates the essential functions and duties required for this position.
