Plans, organizes, implements and ensures each testing site provides the highest level of clinical diagnostic testing services service. Maintains active communication among medical staff and peers. Utilizes the nursing process in this role. Coordinates and directs activity of assigned clinical staff. Coordinates daily functions with other clinical and clerical staff. Oversees daily staff assignments coordinating appropriate match of skill to patient need. Assists with the planning and evaluation of orientation/educational development and competencies of all staff members. Functions as a role model, guide and source of information. Performs functions of a Registered Nurse in the clinical setting. Provides coverage for Manager of Department such as; safety huddle and departmental meetings and vacation. Formal Education Required: a. Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)- Applicants with an Associate’s degree will be considered but are required to obtain BSN within three (3) years of employmentb. Graduate of a program of professional nursing that is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)c. Current license to practice registered nursing in the State of Ohiod. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) e. Advances Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)Experience and Training Required:a. Minimum of two (2) years previous nursing experience in area of specializationb. Minimum one (1) year in leadership/supervision position preferred.c. Demonstrates superior knowledge/expertise in their area of specialization 3. Other Skills, Competencies and Qualificationsa. Possess and demonstrates a high degree of technical knowledge and aptitude of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology and arrhythmia interpretation, physiologic monitoring in adult and geriatric populationb. Obtains certification within one year in position/maintains national certification in area of expertisec. Obtains Lean Six Sigma within 2 years in positiond. Near visual acuity for accurate reading of gauges, thermometers and monitors.e. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other hospital employees.f. Ability to work independently and multi task within established procedures.h. Ability to exercise professional judgment and decision making in response to individual cases.i. Assumes accountability for demonstrating behaviors consistent with Summa service excellence standards.j. Ability to work well within a team environment and assume a collegial relationship by: accepting and offering constructive feedback; supporting team goals; supporting and encouraging team members; collaborating with all health care team members to problem solve, consolidate work and reduce costs.k. Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.l. Maintains competent nursing skill levels to ensure provision of safe quality patientm. Working knowledge of personal computers and data based programsn. Able to function/ work at all testing locations.o. Supports practice of TTO based upon activity and censusp. Provides extra coverage in times of short-staffing, call-offs, or emergencies .. Level of Physical Demands:a. The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay.
