The Post Oak Hotel is seeking a Lead Host/ Hostess to join the only Forbes Five-Star Hotel in Texas. We hire passionate and professional colleagues who genuinely delight our guests through curated and authentic experiences. The Lead Host/ Hostess will be responsible for greeting and welcoming guests according to Forbes’ standards for hotel dining and reservations, providing exemplary introduction to the Bloom & Bee restaurant as well as leading the team of hostess in their role duties. Responsibilities Maintain expert knowledge of restaurant operations, including private dining, patio setups, full buyouts, and reservation systems. Train and onboard new hostesses, ensuring adherence to service standards, phone etiquette, and reservation procedures. Manage and optimize reservation systems (e.g., OpenTable) to maximize seating efficiency and occupancy. Oversee menu updates, including new and promotional offerings, ensuring accuracy across platforms and materials. Coordinate with events teams by handling inquiries and sending follow-up communications to potential clients. Organize seating arrangements for standard and special group needs, including table setups and arrangements. Ensure menus and front-of-house areas are clean, current, well-stocked, and maintained to high standards. Monitor dining room operations, including seating flow, guest safety, and overall service quality. Uphold performance excellence standards (e.g., Forbes Five-Star) and maintain strong communication and professionalism across the team. Qualifications Aspire to our values of being passionate, strive for excellence, remain relevant, collaborate and act with honor and integrity Minimum 2 years’ experience preferred 5-star hotel setting, as a lead hostess. Must have a working knowledge of Open Table and other data tracking tools. Excellent communication skills and problem resolution experience. Perform side work duties to ensure tables are ready for arrivals. Previous hotel experience, luxury or Forbes experience preferred Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays is required Physical demands: Must have the ability to carry a tray up to 25 lbs of food or dirty dishes, standing for prolonged periods of time.
