Administers Cleveland State University’s (CSU) employee benefit and leave programs, including health, wellness, retirement, and leave policies while ensuring compliance with federal, state, local, and CSU’s guidelines. Delivers high-quality customer service through multiple communication channels by assisting employees with eligibility, enrollment, leaves, and accommodation requests. Acts as a liaison between employees and carriers and is responsible for maintaining compliance and data integrity across all systems. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field. Experience in benefit administration and full-cycle leave of absence event processing. Related work experience may be substituted for the education requirement. One (1) year of related work experience can be substituted for one (1) year of education. For example, a candidate with a high school diploma, GED, or state recognized equivalent and four (4) years of related work experience can be eligible to apply. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Human Capital Management (HCM) software systems. Experience with multi-state leave administration. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, and other laws affecting benefit and leave programs, including Affordable Care Act (ACA), FMLA, Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Ace (COBRA), ADA, and Section 125 Cafeteria Plans. Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to develop and deliver effective presentations. Exceptional interpersonal skills and have a “Customer Focus” attitude and delivery. Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills. Uses data and judgment to assess leave eligibility and compliance. Clearly and effectively conveys information to various audiences. Works cooperatively across HR functions, colleges, and departments. Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion. Ability to provide empathy and professionalism when assisting employees. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
