Sim Lab Facilitation. Responsible for set up/break down of simulations and skills lab, including but not limited to: set up of necessary simulators, moulage, AV equipment, and recording devices; ensuring streaming and/or recording of simulations via Elevate Healthcare/ Learning Space; performing sound quality checks on manikins/earpieces as necessary; and updates manikin software as needed. Collaborates with UIC CON IT on a regular basis to mitigate WiFi/ AV issues (Elevate Healthcare/ Learning Space); with faculty and hourly Graduate Assistants to prepare simulations according to lesson plan; and with SP coordinator to maintain best practices in human-based simulation. Scheduling/ Administration. Tracks and inputs faculty simulation requests, maximizing efficiency in scheduling and optimizing utility of space and resources. Drafts and disseminates simulation/skills rotation schedules; accommodates open lab requests for students/faculty. Works with SP coordinator on SP communications and assists with scheduling tours and special events. Inventory/ Upkeep. Maintains Schwartz Simulation lab supplies, updates inventory records, and ensures safe and effective learning environments. Supports integration of simulation across prelicensure (BSN, MSN) and graduate (DNP) nursing curricula. Advises on continuous quality improvement initiatives within the Simulation Lab. Other duties. Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Required:Bachelor’s degree. Demonstrated knowledge of clinical simulation operations and healthcare education. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Science, Nursing, or a related field. Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) credential. Experience in nursing education (prelicensure and/or graduate level).
