Storm Duty Requirements Tampa Electric and its sister companies serve a role in providing critical services to our community during an emergency. Team members are required to participate in the response/recovery activities related to emergencies/disasters to maintain service to our Tampa Electric customers. Team members are required to work in their normal job duties or other assigned activities. Proper compensation will be made in accordance with the company's rules and procedures. State and City: Florida - Tampa. Shift: Mon - Fri, 30-40 hours The TECO Energy Internship & Cooperative Education Program offers college degree-seeking students the opportunity for professional growth while meeting the business needs of the company. The program is an extension of the educational process, providing practical experience to complement formal classroom work. The co-op program recruits students from colleges to give them an opportunity to work in a professional environment related to their field of study. Position Summary/ Details: The Student will work with Operation Engineering on distribution system protection, protection coordination, power quality, and reliability. They will investigate reliability referrals, develop action plans to remedy issues, create work requests to implement proposed solutions, and respond to customers once issues have been resolved. Accountabilities: Create and/or process work requests in work management software Estimate electrical loads for customers and determine actual or proposed ?eld measurements. Model proposed designs in the appropriate software to meet customer needs and ensure all results follow respective regulatory requirements Produce construction prints for ?eld construction of proposed designs Attend weekly work scheduling meetings Assist TEC Distribution Design sta? as needed Physical Location of Intern: Central Service Area (CSA) Bldg C 2200 E.
