Phase 1: Lifeguard (Start of Season - Late August/ Early September)Primary Focus: Guest Safety & Aquatic Operations. Key Responsibilities. Keeping an Eye on the Fun. Always monitor guests to ensure a safe aquatic environment. Respond quickly and calmly to emergencies, providing first aid as needed. Guest Experience. Provide friendly, helpful communication and answer guest questions. Enforce safety rules to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all. Teamwork & Professionalism. Maintain a professional appearance and reliability. Complete required training, certifications, and in-season safety audits. Work collaboratively with your team to deliver excellent service Phase 2: Rides & Attractions Operator (Post-Aquatics Season)Primary Focus: Ride Operations & Guest Experience. After the water park season concludes, you will transition to the Rides & Attractions team, operating rides, assisting guests, and ensuring safety across the park. Key Responsibilities. Guest Experience & Service. Create a welcoming, exciting atmosphere at rides and attractions. Assist guests with boarding/unloading, including children and guests with disabilities. Provide clear information about ride rules and policies. Safety Focus. Operate rides and attractions following all safety procedures. Deliver safety instructions and verify height/admission requirements. Ensure restraints are secured and ride areas are clear before operation. Operations & Teamwork. Maintain cleanliness of ride areas. Work across multiple attractions as needed. Collaborate with team members to support park operations Qualifications Lifeguard Qualifications:Lifeguard Certification Requirement (Important)Candidates must attend and successfully complete a required Ellis & Associates Lifeguard Certification Course. Certification Course Dates & Times:July 6: 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM - July 7: 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM - July 8: 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM - This course is unpaid and functions as part of the selection process (similar to an extended working interview)Certification costs are fully covered by the Zoo upon successful completion. All required training following successful certification is paid. Important: This role specifically requires an Ellis & Associates certification. Candidates who hold certifications from other providers (such as the American Red Cross) are still required to attend and complete the full 3-day Ellis certification course. Lifeguard Availability Requirement. Must have 3-4 full days of availability per week. At least one of these days must be a weekend day (Saturday or Sunday)What We're Looking For. Minimum Requirements. Must be at least 16 years old. Strong swimming skills. Willingness to complete required Ellis & Associates lifeguard certification. Ability to complete rides certification program after seasonal transition. Reliable transportation. Work Conditions & Availability. Ability to work outdoors in varied weather (heat, rain, etc.)Ability to stand for extended periods. Availability for weekends, evenings, and holidays. Schedule may vary based on weather and operational needs. Skills & Abilities. Strong communication and guest service skills. High attention to safety and detail. Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset. Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment. Screening & Compliance. Subject to criminal background check.
