The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, led by Prosecutor Ryan Mears, is setting new expectations in the criminal justice system and is committed to a fair and equitable system. The office is seeking a Victim Advocate to serve and assist victims of violent crime through the justice system during the prosecution of cases in Marion County Criminal Courts. The position requires a self-driven and compassionate individual who can work well as a member of a prosecution team. Position Responsibilities
- Provide assistance to members of the community who visit the office. - Answer and redirect phone calls from the general public. - Contact victims and witnesses on cases to provide updates. - Utilize the internal case management system to provide information to the public. - Upload court documents into appropriate cases in the internal case management system and assign tasks. - Receive incoming mail and distribute it properly. - Manage crime lab reports, as requested. - Additional duties as requested.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service skills. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Must be proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook. - They must also have experience using printers, copiers, scanners, and fax machines. - The candidate must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
