Operations Research Engineers design, develop, and apply advanced engineering and mathematical models, including simulation and optimization frameworks, to drive innovative solutions for complex Intel manufacturing and supply chain challenges. They identify and solve highly complex problems across factory performance, production loading, equipment optimization, decision science, and supply and distribution network operations, requiring deep understanding of fabrication (Fab) and assembly/test (A/ T) environments combined with comprehensive supply chain expertise. These professionals build, develop, validate, and deploy mathematically-based decision algorithms, heuristics, optimization models, and simulation tools while working collaboratively with business units to identify root causes, define strategic and tactical requirements, and implement appropriate business and technical solutions. They leverage formal technical training, extensive business knowledge, and sound engineering judgment to develop comprehensive solutions that address complex operational challenges and drive measurable improvements in manufacturing efficiency and supply chain performance. Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:Master's degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Management Science, or related technical discipline. Expertise Areas:2 years of experience in/with:Programming proficiency in C# and experience working with commercial optimization and constraint programming job shop scheduling packages such as ILOG CPLEX, Gurobi, Autosched, and similar platforms. Database management systems experience including SQL Server and related technologies. Foundation in Operations Research (OR) methodologies, Linear Programming, Integer Programming, and Constraint Programming techniques. Preferred Qualifications:2 years of hands-on experience in semiconductor manufacturing processes and production scheduling. Advanced expertise in Discrete Event Simulation, Simulated Annealing, Meta-Heuristics, Evolutionary Algorithms, and related optimization techniques. Qualifying experience may be obtained through a comprehensive combination of graduate-level research projects, relevant industry experience, and specialized internships in manufacturing or operations research environments.
