The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for establishing and executing the most cost effective shipping methods for corporate freight at appropriate service levels to meet demand from CHI’s fielded aircraft. This position will play an integral role in partnering with internal Operations and Operations Support organizations, Carriers, freight forwarders, to ensure immediate, efficient, on-time and cost effective deliveries and reverse logistics. WHAT YOU WILL DO: In close partnerships with OSCC and the Spares team, determine and implement the most timely and cost-effective methods for shipping freight both domestic and international. In close partnerships with OSCC, the Spares team and field crews and under the guidance of the Logistics Manager, optimize shipping, consolidation, freight and shipment frequency and methods to reduce time in transit, lower costs and consolidate to maximize leverage. Ensure tactical coordination and execution of ITAR, EAR and Haz. Mat shipments, coordinating as required with CHI’s Export Compliance Officer and HS&E organization to ensure compliance with all applicable domestic and international. Establish ongoing processes for reconciling original shipment quotes with freight invoices. Proofread bills of lading and verify freight costs to ensure proper billing. Arrange cargo recovery appointments with shippers and suppliers. Coordinate with customers, shipping, vendors, and others to help resolve shipping issues. Drive policy, process and product improvement. WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU: 2 plus years’ freight coordination/management experience in a warehouse, manufacturing or operations environment. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications; Intermediate level Excel skills or higher required. Strong interpersonal skills to work with the departments, warehouses and other stakeholders. Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail. Exceptional problem solving and analytical abilities. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment. Ability to follow CHI’s Inventory SOP (Standard Operating Procedures).
