Increase in complexity based on level but may include: Prepare and review journal entries Reconcile and maintain general ledger accounts Perform account analysis and research variances Support month-end close processes Prepare and review regulatory filings (FERC, EIA, FPSC) Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities Support audits and rate case data requests Develop ad hoc reports and participate in special projects (Advanced levels) Lead processes, review work, and mentor team members (Lead level) Provide guidance, training, and oversight to accounting staff What You’ll Need Education Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited institution OR Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Experience (Based on Level) Accountant I: 0–1 years (utility experience preferred) Accounting Analyst: 2 years of accounting experience Senior Accounting Analyst: 5 years of experience Accounting Lead: 5 years plus leadership experience and at least 1 year at a senior level Utility or regulated accounting experience preferred at all levels. Certifications (Preferred) CPA strongly preferred for advanced levels Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP (FERC knowledge for senior roles) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills High attention to detail and organizational ability Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (higher levels) Ability to work independently in a deadline-driven environment Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams Demonstrated initiative and process improvement mindset Preferred Systems Experience: SAP BPC Power Plant systems Allegro How You’ll Grow This role is part of a structured progression path.
