They are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job responsibilities performed. - Provides direct and indirect nursing care appropriate to the patient population and acuity of the assigned unit. - Independently performs comprehensive patient assessments, implements nursing and medical interventions, evaluates patient responses, and documents care in the electronic medical record. - Collaborates with patients, families, charge nurses, nurse managers, and interdisciplinary team members to promote continuity, safety, and quality of care. - Safely administers medications and utilizes clinical equipment and technology in accordance with policy and validated competency. - Delegates and supervises nursing care activities consistent with the Nurse Practice Act, organizational policy, and individual competency levels. - Demonstrates professionalism, adaptability, and effective communication when transitioning between units and clinical settings. - Adheres to evidence-based practice, regulatory standards, and organizational policies to promote patient safety and quality outcomes. - Identifies, reports, and takes appropriate action related to patient safety risks, adverse events, and near misses. - Supports unit operations and staffing needs, including performing charge or other unit-based roles as appropriate and within validated competencies. - Participates in quality improvement, performance improvement, and patient safety initiatives as applicable. - Maintains current RN licensure, required certifications, and validated competencies necessary for assigned clinical settings. - Completes all required organizational, regulatory, and annual education. - Participates in ongoing professional development to maintain clinical competence. - Perform all other related duties as assigned. Work Experience Education & Experience - Required - Current and active unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the State of Maryland or eligibility through the Nurse Licensure Compact. - American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS). - Additional certifications and experience requirements (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP, NIHSS) are required based on unit-specific competencies - Minimum of two (2) years of recent acute care nursing experience within the past 12 months. - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school. Education & Experience - Preferred - Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
