We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our healthcare team. This role is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound procedures for patients across the lifespan while ensuring compliance with established protocols, safety standards, and clinical guidelines. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong clinical judgment, excellent patient care, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Licensure & Certifications:RDMS (ARDMS) certification required; if not currently held, must be obtained within one year of hire. ARDMS registries in Abdomen (ABD) and OB/ GYN required within one year of employment. ARRT certification preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at hire (AHA, ARC, or Military Training Network) unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS - Education & Experience:Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or related field. Demonstrated knowledge of ultrasound imaging principles, patient care standards, and safety practices. Key Responsibilities. Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures for patients of all ages in accordance with approved protocols, safety standards, and exam indicators. Schedule patients and obtain complete and accurate medical histories. Evaluate the appropriateness of requested exams and collaborate with radiologists to support patient care. Assist radiologists during procedures and imaging interpretation as needed. Maintain knowledge of ultrasound equipment and ensure proper use of instruments and supplies to deliver high-quality exams. Provide effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare staff, adapting approach based on age and cognitive ability. Ensure accurate documentation of patient services, procedures, and supplies for revenue management purposes. Maintain current and accurate inventory of medications and supplies utilized. Follow all patient care standards, including Universal Precautions, radiation safety, and emergency response protocols (e.g., Code Blue preparedness, CPR)Schedule patients and radiologists in alignment with departmental workflows and protocols. Maintain department readiness by ensuring cleanliness, organization, and adequate supplies. Demonstrate flexibility with scheduling, including on-call availability and response within 30 minutes. Assist with coverage for staffing needs, including sick leave, vacation, and other absences. Perform duties independently while maintaining high standards of care. Core Competencies.
