Design and develop voice communication software components for aircraft systems within the OMS BMC 2 framework. Develop, document, and maintain software architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs focused on voice comms. Support agile software development teams integrating voice communication solutions onto airborne platforms. Participate in use case development, interface definitions, unit and integration testing, and peer reviews. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate voice comms with other mission computing software applications and simulations. Apply analytical problem-solving skills to resolve complex software issues. Continuously improve engineering processes and tools, including documentation for replication and scaling. Integrate voice comm software with radio hardware in software development and integration labs. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):Bachelor’s Degree 3 years of professional software development experience, preferably in embedded real-time systems. Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C , or Java. Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies and practices. Experience with software requirements, design, implementation, and unit/integration testing. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Effective communication skills to interact with stakeholders of varying technical backgrounds. Eligibility for U.S. government security clearance. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/ Experience): Level 2 (Associate): Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 2 years of related work experience OR Bachelor’s Degree and 6 years of directly related work experience OR 10 years of related, relevant experience Level 3 (Mid-Level): Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 5 years of related work experience OR Bachelor’s Degree and 9 years of directly related work experience OR 13 years of related, relevant experience Experience with cloud computing platforms, especially AWS - Knowledge of continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) pipelines. Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Familiarity with open architecture standards like Open Mission Systems (OMS), Open Communication Standard (OCS), and Universal Command and Control Interface (UCI)Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools such as Cameo or similar. Background in developing software for airborne platforms or defense systems. Experience with object-oriented analysis and design (OOAD) methodologies. Experience developing and integrating simulation and modeling software.
