Manager, Logistics Procurement, Truckload & Intermodal. This role is responsible for sourcing, supplier management, cost optimization, and strategic partnerships with truckload and intermodal suppliers for mills and plants in the US and Canada. The individual will support and lead bid activity, negotiate rates and service commitments, identify, lead, and track cost savings and avoidance projects, and build relationships and influence with suppliers and business stakeholders to manage and deliver to business expectations and requirements. This role will primarily cover truckload and intermodal modes, with potentially some exposure to container dray, less-than-truckload, and small parcel. The estimated spend across truckload and intermodal is over $700 M, supporting multiple sites across North America. How you will impact WestRock:Work with Logistics Procurement colleagues and leadership to develop and execute sourcing strategies for truckload and intermodal modes focused on service and value, that delivers results through cost reduction, cost avoidance, capacity management, process improvement, and meets business requirements. Manage supplier relationships and work closely with other mode managers, analysts, regional logistics managers, logistics operations, and business units to improve carrier performance. Conduct bid events according to the modal procurement strategy and as needed for new opportunities. Negotiate rates, service and capacity commitments, and manage implementations with awarded suppliers. Monitor supplier performance, key metrics, assess risks to the network, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Monitor market trends to identify and mitigate potential disruptions; build subject matter expertise in the category. Manage and support modal reporting requirements, performance metrics, and projects. What you need to succeed:Bachelor’s Degree with Minimum 5 years Logistics experience. Ability to easily build relationships with stakeholders and resolve potential conflicts. Ability to negotiate rates and business requirements and manage contracts with logistics suppliers. Strong communication and presentation skills. Ability to work across multiple functional teams and lead through influence. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Strong proficiency working with large datasets and thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, especially Excel. Truckload and/or Intermodal transportation experience is preferred. Team Lead, Project Lead, Supervisor, or Manager experience preferred.
