The Psychometrician conducts neuropsychological testing with the adult and geriatric patient in order to determine cognitive function. The Psychometrician oversees the administration and scoring of neuropsychological assessments under the supervision of a licensed psychologist/neuropsychologist. PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES Administers neurological assessments specified by psychologist/neuropsychologist. Scores the assessments with appropriate norms accurately and provides detailed behavioral observation of patient during appointment to assist the psychologist/neuropsychologist with test interpretation. Provides a written summary of the patient’s behavior during testing, including any interactions with the patient’s family or caretaker that may be observed incidentally. Abides by State of Florida Standards of Practice, Ethical Codes and Health First Medical Group policies and procedures. Adapts the administration of neurological testing to the specific needs of each patient while staying within the standardized procedures set forth for each specific test. Relates to patient in a sensitive manner, while establishing and maintaining patient engagement to optimize patient’s performance during testing. Ensures timeliness, accuracy, completeness and security of patient assessment. Completes assessment/evaluation, reporting in an electronic format by leveraging electronic medical records. Work Experience MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or a relevant field. Work Experience: None Licensure: None Certification: None Background Check: Satisfies the State of Florida, Agency for Healthcare Administration (ACHA) Level 2 background screening. Skills/ Knowledge/ Abilities: Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team setting and collaborate with staff of all levels. Exhibits strong interpersonal skills and is capable of positive interactions with patient and interdisciplinary team. Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize workload. Demonstrated ability in verbal and written communication. Knowledgeable regarding CPT codes, Medicare, insurance billing, and documentation requirements. Must be able to speak with a clear voice to provide verbal instructions. Significant amount of handwriting, typing and computer utilization. Requires attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines and multi-task. Ability to quickly and accurately score complex test protocols and make behavior decisions based on interactions with patients. Able to learn quickly and be flexible. Computer literacy for scoring programs, word processing, knowledge of data management and storage. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Work Experience: Prior experience working with Adult or Geriatric populations. Certification: Certified Specialist in Psychometry in the State of Florida.
