Responsible for performing support duties for the CIED Device Clinic. Such duties include but are not limited to: comprehensive maintenance of the multi-faceted scheduling system for CIE - Ds for CaroMont Heart Vascular patients, data entry, registration and maintenance of data in CIED documentation system and on-line vendor websites to facilitate timely and efficient patient care, wound care and education. Facilitates communication among patients and health care team members in order to promote effective working relationship. Answers calls to the direct Device Clinic phone line, returns phone messages to patients, etc. and documents such encounters in the electronic medical record. Maintains patient confidentiality. Advise CIED Specialists and Cardiac Clinical Coordinator of progress of work and any unusual problems or patient issues that may occur. Performs other similar or related duties as required or assigned by the Device Clinic Clinical Coordinator, CIED Specialists, Cardiac Clinical Coordinator, and/or Practice Manager Qualifications: Associates of Science Degree in Medical Assisting and more than 3 years of recent experience as a certified MA, or a high school degree or equivalent and more than 5 years of recent experience as a certified MA. BLS required. Current credentialing (certification/registration). Must maintain credentialing with American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA-CMA) or American Medical Technologists (AMT-RMA). If employed prior to 3-1-2013 and credentialed with National Center for Competency Training (NCCT-NCMA) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA-CCMA), the organization will recognize those credentials and require they be maintained.
