The Ohio Attorney General’s Office has played a vital role in shaping Ohio’s past and present and the work it does today helps chart the state’s future. The office consists of nearly 30 distinct sections that advocate for consumers and victims of crime, assist the criminal justice community, provide legal counsel for state offices and agencies, and enforce certain state laws. In these and other capacities, staff members interact with tens of thousands of Ohioans each year. The Ohio Attorney General's Office is currently seeking a detail orientated candidate for the position of Grant Evaluator in the Crime Victim Services Section. The Crime Victims section communicates with victims/claimants and service providers, and compiles/reviews documentation necessary to calculate economic loss incurred as a result of a crime. This position handles the fiscal review and monitoring of grant subrecipients to ensure appropriate allocation and spending. The headquarter location for this position is Columbus, Ohio. This position will work a hybrid in- person/remote schedule. There may be changes to this schedule based on training and operational needs. The duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:Establish & implement fiscal audit & evaluation procedures for state & federal grant pass-through funds, including Victims of Crime Assistance & State Victims Assistance Act. Perform on-site monitoring visits of sub-recipients to analyze backup documentation against internal controls; ensure sub-grantee accountability through desk and field audits & analysis of sub-recipients fiscal reporting. Implement internal controls within division including request for backup documentation, field visits, & process improvements; develops findings of fact & recommendations for process improvements for sub-recipients to implement; perform routine follow-up with sub-grantees to ensure compliance with local, state & federal financial guidelines; create & update policies & procedures for fiscal unit staff in alignment with program staff & department protocols. Create & maintain databases that track financially at risk programs funded by Office of Justice Assistance, including federal pass through funds, discretionary funding & State Victims Assistance funding; & performs other duties as assigned.
