The Networking Analyst addresses customer needs and supports the day-to-day operation of the campus network. Working within the Networks department, it involves setting up, installing, and maintaining network hardware and software, including VoIP phones, switches, routers, and access points. The role also entails resolving routine to advanced networking problems, such as issues related to underground infrastructure, hardware, or software. Additionally, this position collaborates with IT staff and other departments to support network-related projects and initiatives. Working hours will occasionally include early and late hours and planned weekend work, coverage for emergency outages during off hours, and residence hall support. While this role primarily requires on-site presence, there may be opportunities for remote work on occasion. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Graduation from a two-year technical college with a major in an Information Technology field and five years in the information technology field related to the position’s role; or graduation from a four-year college or university and three years in the information technology field related to the position’s role. Related information technology experience may be substituted year for year for the required education.Network fundamentals and troubleshooting, with proven ability to resolve network issues across layers 1 and 2, including cable and link testing, UPS installation and troubleshooting, and switch configuration troubleshooting.
