Gettysburg College, in historic Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual who has a strong background in coaching, education and experience working with young adults to serve in this 7-month, part-time position as the Women’s Rugby Head Coach. This is a 7 month position with potential for renewal. Gettysburg College is a highly selective, residential undergraduate liberal arts college, which enrolls approximately 2,400 students. The women’s rugby head coach is a member of the Campus Recreation and Wellness Department and is responsible for overseeing our club program. The head coach is responsible for all aspects of the program. This individual will assist in developing a positive, transformative team environment that includes student development and leadership. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Support our Club sports programs by adhering to all policies, protocols, and procedures regarding forms, travel, and risk management practices Develop, implement, and attend all practices and competitions Attend all Club Sport Coach Meetings Identify and Recruit prospective students and maintain a roster of 30 or more athletes Develop and Manage Student Leaders on the team Oversee all administrative aspects of the program including team travel, scheduling of games, practices, budget management and travel arrangements Identify, supervise, and recruit volunteer assistant coaches Qualifications Preferred Qualifications: 3-5 years of rugby experience as a player and/or coach Knowledge of and ability to abide by all league rules and regulations Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills Communicate and attend appropriate college functions related to alumni events A valid drivers license Certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED or the ability to complete such certification within 30 days of being hired
