Healthy living, and social responsibility. The Health & Wellness Housekeeping Attendant maintains a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout all Health & Wellness and Group Exercise areas. This position performs routine and deep cleaning of fitness equipment and exercise spaces, supports branch closing procedures, and ensures members have a positive experience. We are determined: above all else, we are on a relentless quest to make our community stronger beginning with you. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Clean all Health & Wellness exercise areas. Vacuum floors throughout designated fitness spaces. Mop floors and maintain cleanliness standards. Deep clean cardio, strength, and functional training equipment. Clean Group Exercise studios, including floors, mirrors, and equipment. Re-rack weights and organize equipment to maintain a safe environment. Complete assigned cleaning tasks and checklists before the end of each shift. Ensure all wellness spaces are prepared for member use and the following day's operations. Assist with branch closing procedures as assigned. Other duties as assigned. LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES: Communication & Influence Project Management QUALIFICATIONS: Six months or more of related experience preferred. Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents. Ability to report and record maintenance requests. Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment. Basic understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment. Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use. Certifications required within the first week of hire: Great Academy Trainings Certifications required within the first 60 days of hire: YMCA approved basic life saving skills such as CPR, First Aid. WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Sufficient physical strength and agility to carry out essential duties. Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to push, pull, and move fitness equipment and cleaning supplies as necessary. Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning products according to established guidelines. Ability to work evenings and weekends as scheduled.
