The Assistant Beverage Manager supports the Beverage Manager in overseeing the daily execution, leadership, and performance of all beverage operations, including casino floor beverage service, bars, lounges, and special events. The Assistant Beverage Manager functions as a key operational leader, ensuring service excellence, regulatory compliance, team development, and consistency across all beverage venues while serving as the acting manager in the absence of the Beverage Manager. Supervisory Responsibilities. Directly supervises Beverage Supervisors and leads beverage team members across all assigned outlets. Assists in interviewing, hiring, onboarding, scheduling, training, coaching, and performance management of beverage team members. Supports disciplinary actions and corrective coaching in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. Works closely with the Beverage Purchaser and team, Banquets, Sportsbook, and other departments as needed to support all event and product needs requested from the Beverage Department. Acts on behalf of the Beverage Manager to oversee and support daily beverage operations when the Beverage Manager is not available, as assigned. Ensure all EC - Ms are informed about relevant opportunities. - Mentorship and Coaching: Actively mentor EC - Ms, offering guidance on career pathways and facilitating connections to additional coaching resources as needed. - Resource Allocation: Allocate time and budget to support EC - Ms participation in developmental activities, such as courses, certifications, or conferences. - Development Planning: Collaborate with EC - Ms to create and regularly review individual development plans, setting measurable goals and tracking progress. - Barrier Removal: Identify and address obstacles that may hinder EC - Ms career growth, advocating for their needs within the organization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Operational Leadership - Oversees daily beverage operations to ensure exceptional guest service, efficiency, and consistency. - Executes beverage service standards across all bars, lounges, and casino floor service areas. - Ensures compliance with Arizona Title 4 liquor laws, internal alcohol policies, health, safety, and sanitation standards. - Maintains floor presence to support team members, resolve issues, and engage with guests. - Assists in optimizing staffing levels, service flow, and response times during peak business periods. Team Development & Performance - Supports the training and professional development of Beverage Supervisors, bartenders, servers, and barbacks. - Reinforces service behaviors, upselling techniques, and guest engagement initiatives. - Assists in conducting performance evaluations and ongoing coaching. - Promotes a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Administrative & Business Support - Assists with scheduling, attendance tracking, payroll reporting, and labor and budget management. - Reviews inventory usage, supply needs, and assists with ordering in coordination with the Beverage Manager. - Supports beverage programs, menu updates, drink specials, and promotional initiatives. - Assists in reviewing guest feedback and supports action plans to improve service outcomes. Compliance & Risk Management - Responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of Credit Card Compliance requirements commonly known as PCI (Payment Card Industry) Compliance by attending training provided by Casino Arizona, at least once a year or more if required by management. Signature verification of course attendance will be required. - Responsible for the enforcement of PCI (Payment Card Industry) Compliance regulations to protect cardholder data and adhere to the standards to protect the guests private card information. This includes, but is not limited to, observing and reporting inappropriate card handling activity, of either customers or by employees, as defined by PCI. - Responsible for the enforcement of all applicable regulations, under the code of Federal Regulations, Title 31, Chapter X, as it pertains to this position. This includes, but is not limited to, observing and reporting suspicious activity, of either customers or employees, as defined in the Code of Federal Regulations. - Responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of all applicable regulations under the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 31, Chapter X, by attending Title 31/ Anti-Money Laundering training, provided by Casino Arizona, at least once a year or more if required by management and outlined in the Title 31 Minimum Internal Controls. Leadership & Culture - Models positive leadership behaviors and serves as a role model for the beverage team. - Supports enterprise initiatives, departmental goals, and cross-functional collaboration. - Upholds company values and maintains professional conduct at all times. Education and/or Experience. High School Diploma or GED required. Must have 5 or more years of high-volume bar or beverage experience with 3 or more years of recent experience in a supervisory or management role within a Bar environment. Casino Beverage experience is strongly preferred. Knowledge of Arizona State Liquor Laws (Title 4) is required. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Must possess a Maricopa County Food Handler's Card. Arizona Alcohol Awareness certification required or must obtain. Computer Skills Must have proficient PC skills and be well versed in Microsoft Office applications including MS Excel Pivot Tables, POS systems (Info. Genesis preferred), timekeeping/payroll systems (UKG preferred) and inventory/purchasing systems (SWS preferred). Other Qualifications - Must be able to multitask and handle pressure. - Must be a problem solver. - Must be outgoing and self-disciplined with initiative and leadership abilities. - Must possess good communication skills for dealing with a diverse staff. Language Skills Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
